25% increase in lettuce production using Zargreen fertilizer

One of the biggest challenges in agriculture in all countries is the increase in population, coupled with the destruction and limited availability of suitable land and water resources on Earth. As a result, increasing agricultural productivity per unit of land is a priority in government programs to ensure food security.

Zargreen’s organic liquid fertilizer, as an environmentally friendly and natural biostimulant with a plant-based origin, has shown significant effects on the quantity and quality of plant products at all stages of plant life (vegetative and reproductive).

Due to its high content of absorbable amino acids, this fertilizer increases the plant’s resistance to environmental stresses such as heat, cold, drought, and others. Additionally, amino acids enhance the absorption of macro and micronutrients.

Numerous research studies have been conducted to investigate the effects of Zargreen’s organic liquid fertilizer on the characteristics of agricultural products, one of which is related to cabbage.

Cabbage is one of the widely consumed vegetables in the world, both raw and cooked (as a staple food), and it has received considerable attention.

In collaboration with the Agricultural Jihad Organization of Alborz Province, a pilot study was conducted in Mr. Reza Fateh’s farm to investigate the effects of Zargreen’s organic liquid fertilizer. The experiment was carried out in a completely randomized design, and the Zargreen’s organic liquid fertilizer was used in three applications, 15, 45, and 70 days after transplanting, with the application rate of 20, 30, and 30 liters per hectare, respectively.

A portion of the farm that did not receive Zargreen’s organic liquid fertilizer was considered as the control.

The effects of the fertilizer were monitored and assessed at intervals of 30, 50, and 80 days in the farm. The treated cabbage plants showed superior characteristics in terms of uniformity, greenness, freshness, dry weight, and stress compared to the control.

At the time of harvest, various traits such as height, head weight, and ultimately the final yield were evaluated.

Based on the results obtained in Figure 1, it can be stated that the use of 80 liters of Zargreen’s organic liquid fertilizer per hectare in three stages resulted in an increase in final harvest yield by up to 19.18% compared to the control.

The increase in height was also an average of 16.8%, and the increase in head diameter was 12.9% higher than the control sample.
