Zargreen test on celery; Increase in weight, diameter and height

The agricultural sector has always faced numerous challenges, including increasing productivity to meet the demands of a growing global population, optimizing resource utilization while reducing environmental impacts on ecosystems and human health.

The use of natural plant-based bio-stimulants is a promising and environmentally friendly innovation that enhances flowering, plant growth, fruit formation, product yield, and nutrient uptake efficiency. It also improves tolerance to a wide range of non-biological stress factors.

In this regard, Zargreen’s organic liquid fertilizer was tested as a bio-stimulant on celery crops at Mr. Reza Fateh’s farm in Mehrshahr Karaj, under the supervision of Alborz Agricultural Jihad. The experiment was carried out in a completely randomized design during the summer of 2022. Zargreen’s organic liquid fertilizer was applied at three stages, namely 15, 35, and 55 days after transplanting, at a rate of 20, 30, and 30 liters per hectare, respectively.

A portion of the farm that did not receive Zargreen’s organic liquid fertilizer was considered as the control group.

The evaluation and monitoring of fertilizer treatments were conducted at 35, 55, 75 days, and the final yield after 90 days.

Random samples were taken from both the treated and control groups, and measurements were made, including fresh and dry weight, stem diameter, and height. The summarized results are presented in Figure 1.

The obtained results indicated that the use of 80 liters of Zargreen’s organic liquid fertilizer per hectare in three stages resulted in increased plant height, stem diameter, and fresh and dry weight of celery compared to the control group.

The average increase in stem height due to the application of Zargreen’s organic liquid fertilizer compared to the control group at the final yield stage was 21%, and the average increase in stem diameter was 14%.

Moreover, the average increase in fresh weight through the use of Zargreen’s organic liquid fertilizer compared to the control group at the final yield stage was 28%, and the average increase in dry weight was 25%.
